A little background on this post:
Every week I pick a new theme to help choose my outfits, I’ve done all black week, graphic tee week, big sweater week, etc. This week I decided to follow fashion advice from influential women in the British fashion scene. Here are the results:
Tuesday: Perrie Edwards of Little Mix
This Perrie inspired look got me a few odd glances when I was wearing a wool hat in class on a day that was relatively warm considering the date, but like Perrie said, “Politely eat sh*t haters.” (Okay, maybe that wasn’t a direct quote, but if you listen to “A Different Beat” by Little Mix, she basically says that.)
Wednesday: Her Royal Highness, The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton
I stepped out of my normal style comfort zone on Wednesday, and boy was I glad that I did. I showed up to class and we had an industry professional speaking to us. I looked young but like I actually give a sh*t about how I appear to others. As opposed to my usual grunge-chic attire which makes me look like I make lots of bad decisions on a daily basis.
Thursday: British Model, Cara Delevingne
I just loved this look. It was very true to my inner bad*ss and was also actually something that I have worn before. (Don’t crucify me! In the style of Kate: “Lizzie McGuire, you are an outfit repeater”) I have never worn Brix’ jacket before, so that added a little zest to it. ADDED BONUS: A man actually noticed what I was wearing and said that I had interesting style. Interesting. INTERESTING? I don’t really know if that’s good or bad, but I’ll take a shout out from a new fan whenever I can get it.
Friday: Rock Princess and Fashion Police Host, Kelly Osbourne
It was hard for me to choose between my Cara look and this look as my favorite of the week. I loved the edginess of the bold lip and messy updo paired with the simple black ensemble and denim vest. I find that as rule of thumb I definitely feel more confident when I wear all black. Today was no exception. So I would have to say, this was probably my favorite.
In regard to Monday; I didn’t actually wear clothes, hence why I started at Tuesday. I channeled my inner ancient greek and wore a bed sheet (a la toga style) around the apartment all day. Ah, the perks of having Monday’s off. Anyway, I had a great time with this theme and I am really sad to see it go!
What do you think? Which was your favorite look?
