Okay, I may have gotten a little lazy with the trend this week (SCARF WEEK! WOO), and it wasn’t until after Day 1 was over that I realized that I only have one type of scarf (long and knitted). So, by the end of the week I had to get creative.
As someone who is rarely interested in patterns (I could live in plain black or white t-shirts forever), this dress was a big undertaking. I used my simple black scarf and boots to dull its loudness down.
What can I say? I channeled my inner eighth grader on Tuesday. I wore my top bun with my Hollister scarf and threw up peace signs all day, if only I had on a pair of Uggs and a Starbs frappuccino, it would be like I never left middle school. #basic
I always feel witch-y when I wear my long sweater. I tried to lighten things up with Brix’ white scarf and a classic white tee. Loved how the white really made the blondie-locks pop! What the picture doesn’t show: Exactly how low rise my jeans were and how much of a pain in the ass it was to continuously tuck in my shirt all day. Well, can’t win them all I guess.
I feel like when you look at this picture, there is a lot happening, I promise in person this was not as cluttered. I tied my scarf like an ascot, because gotta keep it fresh, didn’t want you guys to think that I only knew one way to wear a scarf. With this look, I also found a way to wear my blue velvet dress from Urban Outfitters and still stay warm. I feel like I can never go wrong with my signature flannel tied around the waist to casual down/warm up an outfit.
For this look, I channeled my inner pirate. Watch out Keira Knightley, there’s a new Pirate King in town. Between the boots, belt and billowy shirt, I’m ready to sail the seven seas. #AhoyMaties #LandHo #XMarkstheSpot #PirateBooty
I really wanted to make this post by comparing Scarf Week to Shark Week but quickly realized that scarves and sharks have very little in common. Also, I promise to try to have non-Myspace mirror selfies on next week’s Fashion Friday. Anyway, ciao bellas.
